Evidence-based calculator
Size an air purifier by the room—not a vague coverage claim.
Enter the space you actually need to serve. PIQTIVE shows the arithmetic, the EPA table relationship, the higher-ceiling assumption, and the limits of the result.

- 8-ft equivalent
- 120 ft²
How PIQTIVE calculated it
Length × width × ceiling adjustment (at least 1) × 0.65, rounded up. The 0.65 relationship matches EPA’s published 100–600 ft² table; the ceiling adjustment is a disclosed PIQTIVE volume-equivalent assumption.
- Smoke CADR is a particle-removal metric. It does not rate gas or odor removal.
- No portable air cleaner removes every pollutant or guarantees a health outcome.
- Compare the result with the current model’s smoke CADR—not only a maximum-room-size marketing claim.
Assumptions to verify
- The room dimensions describe the full area the cleaner will actually serve.
- The 0.65 relationship comes from EPA’s 100–600 square-foot particle-removal sizing table.
- PIQTIVE retains the EPA table’s eight-foot baseline even when a ceiling is lower; it does not reduce the starting target.
Evidence boundary
A sizing aid, not a health promise
EPA advises choosing a portable cleaner with enough CADR for the space and notes that its table assumes an eight-foot ceiling. CADR applies to particles, while gases and odors require suitable sorbent media. PIQTIVE does not recommend a brand from these inputs or claim that filtration prevents or treats illness.
